We had a lay in this morning until around 9am. Not my idea of a lay in mind! The amount of walking and queuing really does take it out of you especially 14 hour park days. We headed over to Magic Kingdom where we met the Circus Pals which was different and interaction was great. Watching how amazed the kids are meeting their favourite characters makes my day.
We then rode some of the classics as there was no line. We went on Dumbo and Enchanted Tales with Belle.
Epcot – Extra Magical Hours
We then headed to Epcot on the Monorail where we explored the Sea base. This aquarium is huge and houses some amazing animals including manatees… a favourite of Mike’s! We rode the classics Seas with Nemo and Turtle Talk with Crush. We then had a fast pass for Frozen Ever After a new ride for us. This ride features all your favourite frozen characters and songs and is amazing. It all seems so real the only disappointing thing is the length of the ride as it does not last long enough. Especially if you have queued for a few hours. Once we were out we could see the black clouds rolling in fast and got caught up in a storm. We ran for the Mexican Pavilion but it was a little too late, we were drenched. We walked around this pavilion rode the ride and got ourselves drinks.
Once the storm passed we had a fast pass for Character Spot where we met Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. Mickey loved Mike’s T-shirt. I thought you could see Baymax with this fast pass but you couldn’t so keep this in mind. Spaceship Earth is another classic and lasts long enough to really enjoy the air conditioning on this ride! It does get dark and we nearly fell asleep half way round, we were so tired. We then went to watch the new Soarin and we loved the new film, far better than the old. They even added smells into it which was amazing. Next was over to Club Cool to try the different Soft Drinks from around the world. Some were lovely others were horrible.
After food we rode The Circle of Life, Living with the Land, Short Movie, Figment and Space Mission. It was our first time this trip watching the illuminations which were magical and felt as if they were better than the last time we saw them. I feel like this trip is completely changing my mind on my favourite rides and shows.
Food and Drink
- Gaston’s Tavern where we shared a warm cinnamon roll and LeFou’s Brew (frozen apple juice with toasted marshmallow and topped with passion fruit mango foam. Both of these were super sweet but really good. A nice themed place which looks exactly like the film.
- Be Our Guest for lunch. We pre-ordered our food using the app. We were given a rose and went to pick our seats. We decided to sit in a room off the ballroom for a change. It was refillable drinks which we took advantage of. It was so clever there was some sort of signal in the rose as our food arrived at our table quickly and without any interaction from the staff. We shared a French onion soup and chocolate éclair which was really tasty. Mike had the Tuna Nicoise Salad which he enjoyed. I had a croquet monsieur which was tasty. The portion size was huge and I couldn’t fit it all in. Remember to book in advance! It gets very busy here.
- Garden Grill was where we had booked for dinner. We loved this place and the interaction with Chip, Dale, Pluto and Mickey was great. You are sat in a revolving restraint where you see different scenes from living with the land. Food was served family buffet style so was brought to your table. We had salad followed by meats, potatoes and vegetables and then finished with a berry cake. All tasted amazing, even though there was far to much of it. Again, massive portions!
- Cava del Tequila is our favourite bar in Disney World and serves the best margaritas ever. I had a wildberry margarita and Mike had a blood orange one. We both shared nachos and guacamole. Amazing!
