Ohana with Fireworks – Day 20

Date: 23rd August 2017

Animal Kingdom

We had to ride our favourite ride of all this holiday, Everest. Love it, I don’t know how many poses we managed on this ride. It was really hot today, it always feels more humid in Animal Kingdom… maybe because of all the trees? We saw Flights of Wonder today which shows off birds. It’s really good and worth a visit. We then finished off our Wilderness Explorer book before we headed back to the resort for a nap. Once you’ve completed your Wilderness Explorer book finished go back to the booth near the entrance for a surprise! We were asked if we wanted a small announcement or a big announcement… well… go big or go home I say!

It was time we went and bought some stuff to take home. I needed an exclusive Pandora charm, a regular travel souvenir for me, and choose the Sorcerers Hat. Love it! We bought most of our gifts and souvenirs from the world of Disney. Mike was really happy with his new Baymax mug too.

Food and Drinks

  • Tusker House for breakfast which I think is the best character meet for adults that we have been to. There is great interaction from all the characters and a really good range of food. They had your mickey waffles and all the normal stuff but they also had a good range of African dishes which were really tasty. You have to try the juice. We drank far too much of it!
  • Ohana’s which is another absolute favourite for us. Here it is family buffet style where they bring dumpings, salad, noodles too your table. Followed by skewers of meat and fish straight off the fire. It is so good. We were there the same time that the fireworks were going off in Magic Kingdom, we could see them from our seat. The restaurant makes it special by playing the music, it was such a great experience. Make sure you arrive hungry here, the servers are generous with their portions and save a bit of room for dessert.

Dining Plan Value: Today we spent $178 which make our total $1739.88

Miles Walked Today: 5.73

Miles Walked All Together: 130.04
